Denver-Area Orthodox Parishes Pack Meals and Make Blankets for Neighbors
Denver-area Orthodox parishes unite for hands-on community service during annual Orthodox Day of Service.
PARKER, CO — On Saturday afternoon, March 28, parishioners from three local Orthodox communities came together for the annual “Orthodox Day of Service,” joining efforts to assist those in need throughout the Denver area. The collaborative event brought together members from St. Catherine Greek Orthodox Church, St. Herman Orthodox Church, and St. Tikhon Orthodox Mission.
Volunteers worked on multiple projects, including preparing and packaging bean soup meals for hungry neighbors, creating greeting cards for Meals-on-Wheels clients, and making baby blankets for families in need. The efforts were aimed at fostering community engagement while providing tangible support to vulnerable populations.
This service event is part of a wider network of Orthodox Day of Service activities held across the region and in other states, emphasizing collaboration, compassion, and active participation in charitable ministry by Orthodox faithful.
Previously, the UOJ reported that the HCHC community packaged meals for those in need.
