On 3 September 2023, Metropolitan Seraphim of Kythira and Antikythera of the Greek Orthodox Church said that the faithful of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church are being persecuted, reports orthodoxianewsagency.gr.
Metropolitan Seraphim reminded his flock that the faithful of Greece can "freely and unhindered worship and honour the Most Holy God, glorified and blessed in the Trinity".
He called on the faithful to pray for the Christians of the canonical Ukrainian Orthodox Church, who, he said, have been persecuted during the 21st century.
As reported, UN Secretary-General Antonio Guterres said that no one should be persecuted because of their religious beliefs.
