Those who remain faithful to the Church will attain salvation, said Father Ioann (Shkabura), rector of the seized Holy Protection Church of the UOC in the village of Godomychi, Volyn region, in a comment to the UOJ within the framework of the Congress “Faithful” held at the Holy Dormition Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra on February 22.
“Everything that is given in our life is given for the best,” noted the priest of the UOC. “What is happening now in our Church has always happened in it. The Church has always been persecuted. But with each such persecution, the Church is purified."
According to Fr Ioann, "The Church needs to be cleansed of tares, spoiled seeds".
“We hope that the Lord, by his wondrous providence, will make in our life so that in the Church of Christ there will remain the faithful who will attain salvation,” the priest summed up.
As reported, on February 10, 2019, the territorial community of the village of Godomychi decided to move to the OCU, taking with it the church of the UOC community. The Orthodox decided to build a new church for themselves.
The UOJ also wrote that, according to the rector of the seized UOC church in Godomychi, the head of the Phanar must remember the Last Judgment.
