ELDORET, KENYA — Through the blessings of Abp. Elpidophoros of the Greek Orthodox Archdiocese of America, the Orthodox Metropolis of Eldoret and Northern Kenya received substantial support for its Turkana Mission. A generous donation from clergy and faithful of the New York District enabled the purchase of motorcycles for clergy serving in remote areas and contributed to the construction of the St. Nicholas School Hall in Turkana.
Metr. Neofitos of Eldoret highlighted a key benefactor from the Church of Our Savior in Rye, New York, who personally donated all motorcycles, allowing all local clergy to be fully equipped. The first six motorcycles were officially distributed, significantly improving the missionaries’ ability to reach distant communities and carry out pastoral work.
Drawing inspiration from the biblical account of Gideon’s small army, Metr. Neofitos emphasized that faith and reliance on God, not abundance of resources, drive true mission success. The Metropolis expressed heartfelt gratitude to Abp. Elpidophoros, the New York District parishes, and all benefactors for their generosity.
