YONKERS — St. Vladimir’s Seminary Press (SVS Press) is inviting supporters to help publish The Life and Teaching of St. Gregory Palamas by Romanian Orthodox theologian St. Dumitru Stăniloe, now available for the first time in English. Originally published in 1938, the work examines the theology and history of the hesychast controversy, highlighting the life and teachings of St. Gregory Palamas during the turbulent fourteenth century.

St. Dumitru Stăniloe, canonized by the Romanian Orthodox Church in 2025, was renowned for his contributions to systematic theology, translations of the Church Fathers, and his enduring witness under Romania’s communist regime.

SVS Press offers supporters the chance to sponsor the book, with gifts ranging from $500 to $2,500, each including recognition in the book and complimentary copies. One hundred percent of net sales support the formation of St. Vladimir’s seminarians, amplifying the impact of every contribution.

Donations to include names or dedications must be submitted by January 25, 2026.

Previously, the UOJ reported that St. Vladimir's Orthodox Theological Seminary hosted a symposium on the future of Orthodox biblical studies.
