JORDANVILLE, NY — His Eminence Metr. Nicholas, First Hierarch of the Russian Orthodox Church Outside of Russia, officiated the Rite of Nomination of Archimandrite Michael (Crowley) as Bishop of Boston on Saturday, February 14, at Holy Trinity Monastery. The nomination was carried out in accordance with the Synod of Bishops’ December 9, 2025 resolution.

Concelebrating were Abp. Gabriel of Montreal & Canada and Bps. Luke of Syracuse and Spyridon of Toronto, the latter consecrated earlier in the week. Following the rite, All-Night Vigil was served in Holy Trinity Cathedral for the feast of the Meeting of the Lord and the Sunday of the Dread Judgment. Pilgrims filled the church, including many from St. Xenia Church in Methuen, Massachusetts, where Fr. Michael has long served as rector.

In his address, Archimandrite Michael reflected on his spiritual journey from youthful searching and involvement in the Holy Order of MANS to his reception into ROCOR under Metr. Hilarion. Expressing gratitude for his late matushka, children, and grandchildren, he pledged fidelity to Holy Tradition and declared with the Apostle Paul: “I am crucified with Christ . . . yet not I, but Christ liveth in me.”

Previously, the UOJ reported that Metr. Nicholas blessed the Resurrection Cathedral construction in Florida.
