ELK GROVE, CA — Orthodox Christian Prison Ministry has announced that its first-ever essay collection, Suffer With You: Lessons on Forgiveness from Prison, is now available for pre-sale, with pre-orders expected to arrive by Bright Monday, April 13.
The new volume brings together three personal essays from individuals connected to the U.S. prison system, each reflecting on the theme of forgiveness amid suffering and incarceration. With more than 5.5 million people in prison, jail, or on parole nationwide, the ministry describes the current system as a crisis level of incarceration. The book seeks to share stories OCPM says are often hidden yet profoundly humbling.
Among them are the account of a man who forgave—and befriended—his mother’s murderer, a former hate-crime offender who now leads a prayer group for racial reconciliation, and a former pastor confronting the consequences of his crime. A final essay explores the “Liturgy of Forgiveness” developed by Schema Nun Siluana Vlad.
Previously, the UOJ reported that Metr. Saba released his free e-book, Metropolitan Saba: A Life Testimony, in English and Arabic.
