Archbishop Places Antimension, Leads Service at St. Paul the Apostle Monastery

BOSCOBEL, WI — His Eminence Abp. Daniel of Chicago and the Midwest made an archpastoral visit Monday to the newly established St. Paul the Apostle Monastery, marking a milestone for the diocese’s monastic life.
The Archbishop was greeted by the monastery Abbot, Hierodeacon Menas (Thomas), along with members of the brotherhood and local faithful. Entering the temple, Abp. Daniel placed the Antimension and Chrisom on the altar and led a Service of Thanksgiving. He was joined by diocesan clergy including Archpriest Herman Kincaid, Priest Alexander Koranda, Priest Esteban Vazquez, Priest Nikolai Lochmatow, and Priest Daniel Greeson.
During the visit, Abp. Daniel emphasized the vital role of monastic communities in the Church and encouraged the faithful to visit the monastery. Following the service, attendees shared a meal and toured the grounds.
St. Paul the Apostle Monastery was canonically established March 11, 2026, restoring a historic monastic presence at the former site of St. Isaac of Syria Skete.
