BURR RIDGE, IL — The Diocese of the Midwest concluded its annual Clergy Convocation following a four-day gathering at Sts. Peter and Paul Church, bringing together priests and deacons from across the region for prayer, fellowship, and pastoral formation.

The convocation opened April 20 with Abp. Daniel of Chicago and the Midwest welcoming clergy participants. Guest speaker Bp. Vasily of San Francisco and the West delivered a multi-part presentation focused on the Mystery of Confession, continuing his reflections throughout the event.

Liturgical services included an Akathist before the Chicago-Tikhvin Icon of the Mother of God and the celebration of Divine Liturgy. Clergy also received updates from diocesan departments, while newly ordained priests participated in a special formation session wherein they received guidance and support from Abp. Daniel in their early ministry.

Previously, the UOJ reported that Abp. Daniel urged deep prayer during Holy Week.
