SALT LAKE CITY, UT — The Diocese of the West of the Orthodox Church in America (OCA) has announced that it is seeking candidates for two missionary roles to support the launch of a new Orthodox mission in the greater Salt Lake City area, expected to begin in late summer or early fall 2026.
The Diocese is hiring a full-time Missionary Catechist and Choir Director, who will serve alongside a Priest-in-Charge in building the mission’s liturgical and educational life. The role includes directing choir services, preparing liturgical texts and music, and leading catechesis for both adults and children, with an emphasis on fostering community and spiritual growth.
In addition, a part-time Choir Director position is open, focusing on developing and leading liturgical music for services throughout the year. Both roles emphasize strong musical training, knowledge of Orthodox liturgical tradition, and the ability to contribute to a growing parish community. Interested candidates should submit a letter of interest and resume or CV to slc@dowoca.org.
Previously, the UOJ reported that a new Orthodox parish was launched in Texas.
