YONKERS, NY — St. Vladimir’s Seminary Press has launched a fundraising effort to support the publication of a new edition of "Four Hundred Chapters on Love" by St. Maximus the Confessor, inviting donors to help bring the work to print.
The Press said proceeds from book sales directly support the formation of seminarians at St. Vladimir’s Orthodox Theological Seminary, amplifying the impact of each sponsored title. The forthcoming volume will feature a fresh English translation alongside the original Greek text, marking the first time the work is presented in this format.
St. Maximus the Confessor, a seventh-century Church Father, is widely regarded as a major figure in Orthodox theology. His "Four Hundred Chapters on Love" offers brief spiritual teachings focused on cultivating love for neighbor and for God, presented in a traditional monastic format of concise chapters.
Sponsorship opportunities range from $500 to $2,500, with benefits including copies of the book and name recognition or dedications in the published volume. The deadline to participate is May 10, 2026. Donations can be made here.
Previously, the UOJ reported that a bilingual edition of St. Gregory Palamas’ "Triads" launched an SVS Press series.
