Metr. Saba Leads Historic Induction Ceremony

LOS ANGELES — A record 51 members were inducted or elevated within the Order of St. Ignatius of Antioch during a ceremony led by Metr. Saba on April 26 at St. Nicholas Cathedral, marking the largest single class in the organization’s history.

The inductions followed the Hierarchal Divine Liturgy, with participants pledging increased support through time, talent, and financial contributions to initiatives including seminarian education, retired clergy assistance, youth camp scholarships, and leadership training programs. The new class included a wide age range, from younger junior members to long-time adult supporters of the Church’s philanthropic efforts.

Two surprise recognitions highlighted the event: Archpriest Nabil Hanna, dean of the cathedral, received Life Membership, while Bp. Anthony was honored with the highest Metropolitan-level membership. These distinctions were made possible through the generosity of local parishes, diocesan supporters, and members of the Order.

Organizers noted that many inductees were recruited in recent months through outreach efforts emphasizing the Order’s charitable mission. Following the ceremony, Metr. Saba greeted Dorothy Nicholas, who recently turned 103 and is recognized as the Order’s oldest active member.
