HOWELL, NJ — On Wednesday, May 6, feast of Mid-Pentecost and Holy Great-Martyr George, His Grace Bp. Jerome visited St. George Church (ROCOR), celebrating Divine Liturgy for its patronal feast and 65th anniversary.

Clergy from St. Alexander Nevsky Cathedral and St. Vladimir Memorial Church concelebrated, and parish warden John Rimakis greeted the Bishop with a Paschal kulich (bread). Despite rain canceling a planned procession, the liturgy concluded with the parish presenting Bp. Jerome with a commemorative Cross and Panagia in honor of his service.

Parish history traces its founding to Kuban Cossack settlers who established the community in the 1950s, building the church through donations and community labor, and preserving icons and traditions brought from Europe. The parish continues to serve the faithful today through regular monthly services.

Previously, the UOJ reported that a Georgia parish celebrated the patronal feast of St. Stephen.
