FALLS OF ROUGH, KY — The Ludwell Orthodox Fellowship has announced that its annual conference will take place Sept. 12–13 at Rough River Dam State Park, bringing together Orthodox Christians and interested visitors from across the South for a weekend of education, worship, and fellowship.

Organizers said the event is designed to support the Church’s evangelistic mission by encouraging dialogue about how Orthodox Christianity can be rooted within the cultural traditions and religious heritage of the American South. Attendees will have opportunities to hear lectures, participate in question-and-answer sessions, meet fellow believers, and engage in discussions on faith, culture, and community life.

The conference will feature presentations by a variety of speakers, including Dr. David Bradshaw, a philosophy professor at the University of Kentucky; Dr. L. Daniel Cantey Jr.; Fr. Terence Johnston; and Dcn. Mark Mathis. Buck Johnson, host of the Counterflow Podcast, will serve as conference emcee and moderator. Additional information about presentation topics, speaker biographies, and the full event schedule is expected to be released closer to the conference date.

A catered lunch will be provided during the day, while Vespers will be celebrated on Saturday evening. Organizers are also encouraging participants to remain through Sunday, when Divine Liturgy will be served onsite by Fr. John Whiteford, founder and board chairman of the fellowship.

Registration, which can be found at the link above, remains open, with discounted early-bird pricing available through Aug. 2 before standard admission rates take effect.

Previously, the UOJ reported that Greek Orthodox young adults are set to meet for the ROOTED conference.
