Pre-Carpathian believers take part in the celebration of the Baptism of Kievan Rus
July 26, the believers of the Ivano-Frankivsk diocese went on a pilgrimage to Kiev to join the All-Ukrainian Cross Procession of peace, love and prayer for Ukraine and participate in the celebration of the baptism of Kievan Rus and the 1000th anniversary of the ancient Russian monasticism on Mount Athos, reports the website of the diocese.
That day in the Cathedral of the Nativity of Christ, a moleben for travellers was served, and pilgrims with prayer hit the road.
We remind that on July 27 a solemn prayer service on the Vladimir Hill will be led by the Primate of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, His Beatitude Metropolitan Onufriy concelebrated by representatives of the Local Churches of the world, the Athos monks accompanying the Holy Mountain shrines. On July 28 the Divine Liturgy at the Holy Dormition Kiev-Pechersk Lavra will be served.
