Andrei Portnov: blocking by authorities of Cross Procession is double standards and exceptional cynicism

Blocking by authorities of the All-Ukrainian Cross Procession is a real selective justice, double standards and an exceptional cynicism, writes on his Facebook page the former First Deputy Head of Presidential Administration Andrei Portnov.

"The Ministry of Internal Affairs has reported today that the National Guard and the National Police blocked the passage of the religious Procession through Kiev for security reasons. Maybe it's the right decision, or maybe not, I do not know. But how does it differ from the January 2014 police action, when, for safety reasons, activists’ movement was blocked in the center of Kiev," he said.

"These two decisions have only one difference. In 2014 this was done on the basis of a court decision, in accordance with the procedures established by law, and this time by the willful decision of officials. That is, then it was bad, but today it is good," noted Andrei Portnov.

"This is a real selective justice, double standards and an exceptional cynicism. Three in one," resumed the politician.
