Filaret does not know when Constantinople will consider "Ukrainian issue"

The head of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church of the Kiev Patriarchate Filaret (Denisenko) cannot answer when the Ecumenical Patriarchate will consider the question on Ukrainian Church autocephaly.

On July 28, after the celebrations on the St. Vladimir Hill reporters asked Filaret when the Ecumenical Patriarchate Commission would finally consider an appeal of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine for Ukrainian Church autocephaly.

"God knows, – said the head of the UOC-KP. – Maybe this year, maybe next. But it will happen."

Earlier, the Holy Synod of the Constantinople Patriarchate considered the appeal of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine to the Patriarch Bartholomew to issue an appeal regarding Tomos of autocephaly of the Orthodox Church in Ukraine and passed it to the relevant commission for study.
