Representative of Constantinople Patriarchate refused to participate in Ukrainian procession of Filaret followers

Archbishop Job of Telmessos (Getcha) received an invitation from the head of the UOC-KP Filaret (Denisenko) to participate in the cross procession of Ukrainian Kiev Patriarchate, which he refused.

As reported by UOJ sources, on 28 July during the celebration of the Baptism of Rus on the St. Vladimir Hill Filaret twice proposed to the Archbishop to go with the Kiev Patriarchate through the streets of Kiev and both times received a polite refusal.

That day Archbishop Job of Telmessos (Getcha), the official representative of the Constantinople Patriarchate, concelebrated the Divine Liturgy with the Primate of the UOC Metropolitan Onufriy at the Kyiv-Pechersk Lavra.

As for the relationship of Fanar and the unrecognized by world Orthodoxy Kiev Patriarchate, the head of the UOC-KP Filaret could not answer the question when the Ecumenical Patriarchate Commission would consider the appeal of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine for Ukrainian Church autocephaly.
