The UOC dioceses continue to help sick children and elderly people

Workers of Social Departments of Kremenchug diocese congratulated orphan children on Transfiguration and gave them useful gifts, while in Kropivnitskoye patients of the regional hospital for children were offered help. It is reported by the Information and Education Department of the UOC.

On the Transfiguration holiday clerics of the church of Venerable Sergiy Radonezhskiy visited the Territorial Center for Social Assistance of Solomenka district of Kiev city and secondary school #222. The priests congratulated elderly people and over 300 children, sanctified fruits and wished peace, spiritual strength and health.

On the same day the Orthodox brotherhood of Saint Nicholas the Wonderworker at the Holy Trinity church in Kremenchug city organized a charitable action “Let’s bring a festivity to the orphanage.” According to the action organizer and brotherhood chairman protodeacon Victor Dudnichenko, within the action there were collected fruits for orphanages of Kremenchug city. On this day fruits were dispatched to the Regional psycho-neurological children’s sanatorium “Slavutich”, Regional Child House, Children’s Orphanage and Rehabilitation Center for disabled children. Besides, the brethren held awareness-raising talks about Transfiguration holiday.         

On August 20 the clergy of Kirovograd diocese delivered sanctified fruits to the patients of hematological and neurological departments of Kirovograd regional hospital for children. Apart from that, there were transferred funds in the amount of 1600 UAH to the personal account of the mother of cancer-stricken girl Victoria Gorbatiuk. The child has been fighting with the disease for a long time and needs material support for the treatment. The funds were raised during the charitable fair, held in the Holy Transfiguration Cathedral in Kropivnitskiy city.
