First Orthodox resort opened in Sochi

The first Orthodox resort “Lesnoe (Forest)” began operation in Sochi, reports RIA Novosti

“The development of new recreation areas aim to increase the number of pilgrims and the promotion of new routes related to the history of the region,” stated in the message of the city administration. 

The resort “Forest” offers trips to the Greek Church of St. George and the ruins of three medieval Christian churches in the Psakho canyon. The resort has two resorts, operates a walking tour. 

Today in the Krasnodar region there are 11 religious and spiritual education tours, developed by the Kuban diocese. Religious travellers are offered sightseeing tours in Novorossiysk, Gelendzhik Krasnodar, as well as Temryuk, Ust-Labinsk, Slavic and Caucasian regions.
