Metropolitan Hierotheos of Nafpaktos: Text "Relations of the Orthodox Church with the rest of the Christian world" needs finalization

At the last meeting of the Holy Synod of the Greek Orthodox Church, Metropolitan Hierotheos (Vlachos) of Nafpaktos criticized the Crete Council, reports Agionoros with reference to Romfea.

The main theses of the Metropolitan’s statement are the following, according to the resource:

1. The Council in Crete was not properly prepared.
2. It was not the council of bishops, but the council of Primates and their retinues.
3. The final text of the "Relations of the Orthodox Church with the rest of the Christian world" contains a number of dubious statements. After reports of the Crete Council meetings are published, it will become obvious that it was dominated by "branch theory" and "baptismal theology." This text was immature and not ready for signing.
4. Since the text "Relations of the Orthodox Church with the rest of the Christian world" is full of contradictions, the hierarchy needs, if not to reject it, then at least not to accept it and offer for further discussion and finalization at the next Pan-Orthodox Council. This will allow avoiding schisms.
