His Beatitude Onuphry meets with children from the war-hit school (PHOTO, VIDEO)
At the moment the school has been completely restored and children continue their study. At the meeting with His Beatitude the schoolchildren were accompanied by their school director and the military men from the State Special Transport Service of the Ministry of Infrastructure of Ukraine. Namely this subdivision was engaged in the reconstruction of the war-hit school.
With the assistance of the military and the UOC the visitors could visit a lot of Orthodox temples of Ukraine. According to them, however, most significant to them was a trip to Kiev and Kiev-Pechersk Lavra in the run-up to Easter.
The kids gifted His Beatitude with decorated eggs: one from each class of the school.
The UOC Primate also handed gifts to his guests, blessed them and pronounced parting words: “I wish you to see Holy Easter in being healthy and joyful. May God send peace and reconciliation to our land. May you grow up good, intelligent and kind people for you are our future”.
