Two-thousand Cross Procession with a miraculous icon held in Sumy (PHOTO)

On April 18 Orthodox citizens of Sumy walked in a Cross Procession with a miraculous icon of the Mother of God, writes the site of Sumy-based UOC eparchy.

On the day of glorification of Korsun-Shpilev Icon of the Holy Virgin, Guardian of Sumy city, there was held a traditional Cross Procession.

The Procession was led by the ruling Archbishop of Sumy and Akhtyrka Yevlogiy and nearly two hundred clergymen and over 2000 believers.

The Procession stopped at Prophet Elijah temple, as well as at the place of the destroyed Pokrov (Intercession) temple to read the Gospel.

Sumy residents welcomed warmly the participants of the Procession with Easter greetings.
