UOC clergy and believers congratulate the military on Easter time

Believers of Zaporozhye and Borispol eparchies took part in their congratulatory Easter actions for the men in service, writes the UOC Information and Education Department.

On April 18 cleric of Zaporozhye eparchy Alexey Zubko, senior priest of the temple of Venerable Elijah of Murom, visited a military unit in Melitopol and congratulated the military on the Easter Holiday.

Senior priest of the Holy Trinity temple in Zaporozhye Vadim Shapovalov congratulated the lyceum students and academic staff of Zaporozhye regional lyceum with intense physical training “Defender” on Easter.

The priest sanctified the bus the lyceum had been gifted with by Zaporozhye Regional Council, which will be used for sightseeing tours and competitions within the national-patriotic upbringing of the Lyceum students.

Besides, Zaporozhye eparchy is holding an action on collecting Easter foodstuffs for the ATO soldiers called “Easter Basket for a Soldier”. All deaneries of the eparchy joined this action.

The aid for those in ATO zone was also provided by the faithful of Borispol eparchy. On April 16, on Christ Resurrection Holiday, senior priest of Transfiguration parish in Lepeshki village of Baryshev district, Kiev region blessed volunteer Konstantin Azarov who went to the ATO zone to transfer festive gifts to the military men.

The liturgy was attended by the monastery’s clergy, Arabic-speaking clergy from the Jerusalem Patriarchate, Hieromonk Peter (Borodulin) of the Russian Ecclesiastical Mission, and pilgrims in holy orders.
