Churches and monasteries of UOC to pray for the dead in World War II

On May 8 and 9, with the blessing of His Beatitude Metropolitan Onufriy of Kiev and All Ukraine, funeral services will be held in all churches and monasteries of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church in memory of the defenders of the Motherland who died in World War II, writes the UOC Information and Education Department.

The corresponding circular of the Kiev Metropolia was sent to all the diocesan bishops of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church.

On May 9, Ukraine marks the Victory Day over fascism in World War II. In 2017, the 72nd anniversary of the victory over fascism is celebrated.
