Сhurch of UOC desecrated in Volyn

In the Volyn region, there is another attack on an Orthodox church. On the night of May 26, unknown individuals wreaked havoc on the Pokrovsky Church of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church in the village of Pirvanche of the Gorokhov district.

As the head of the press service of the Volyn diocese of the UOC, archpriest Oleg Tochinsky reported to the UOJ, the criminals might have intended to get the church cash. However, they found no money in the church register.

Unfortunate burglars, deciding to take revenge, desecrated the Orthodox church. The vandals overturned the holy sacraments on the altar and wreaked havoc on the premises.

At present, the police are working on the site.

The rector of the Pokrovsky Church of the village of Pirvanche is the dean of the Marianovka district of the Volyn diocese, Protopriest Nikolai Cherniak.

In 2014, two parishes of this deanery, in the villages of Pechikhvosty and Strilche, were subject to raider attacks from the Kiev Patriarchate.
