Kinakhovtsy community devoid of the church gathers at the elder’s house for Trinity
"In the photos, you may see not all who came on this day to pray with the priest of the canonical Church, because people with young children have gone home earlier," said Archpriest Georgy Prokopchuk, a representative of the Ternopol diocese of the UOC.
On May 21, 2017, the Holy Apostles Peter and Paul parish in Kinakhovtsy remained without their church. A week before, it had been seized by the Kiev Patriarchate, which has served since that time in the occupied premises, referring to the re-registration of the statute of the UOC parish in its favour.
The UOC parishioners of Kinakhovtsy, Butin and Mishkovtsy villages were thus deprived of the last in the district temple of the canonical Church. However, the community has not become discouraged and is now gathering for services at the house of the Kinakhovtsy community elder Stepan Tyvoniuk.
The believers are determined to protect their religious rights in court.
