The world has no future without Christianity, – religious expert

Is there a future in Christianity in the modern world of meaningless guffaw? I do not know. But I know for sure that the world has no future without Christianity. This was said by the head of the Synodal Department for the Relations of the Church with the Society and Media Vladimir Legoyda on the air of the program "In a Personal Capacity" on the television channel "Tsargrad", reports Православие.RU.

"Polish thinker of the twentieth century Kolokovsky once very accurately said that the struggle against Christianity is not conducted through discussion. The main weapon is a senseless cackling. Not the arguments of opponents, not a system of evidence, not philosophical reflections. Only refusal to maintain a dialogue and meaningless laughter," said V.R. Legoida.

"It is difficult to struggle with Christianity through intellectual discussion. This was well understood, for example, in the Soviet Union, so Christians were credited with certain views, which they did not have. And then these views – ascribed – were ridiculed," the representative of the Church reminded.

The Chairman of the Department for Relations between the Church and the Society and Mass Media noted that "pointless guffaw" is often the case today in response to the words about the Kingdom of Heaven, the afterlife, about devoted and selfless love, love as an experience of somebody else’s pain, love as a victim.

"After all, this main truth of Christianity – God is love – once completely changed the world. It changed and saved from decay, from destruction. It created a powerful culture, and has nourished the world for centuries with deep meanings," he stressed.
