"Pray for me": film about study at Athoniada released (VIDEO)

The information portal of the Holy MountAthos has presented the film "Pray for me". A short film tells about studying in Athoniada. The film shows the fate of an Orthodox priest, who once studied in the Athos theological school, reports UNIAN.

The authors of the film recommend all children and young people who are about to choose the path of life to watch it. The short film covers the subject of obedience in a form that is accessible to children and adolescents.

Athoniada is a theological school on Mount Athos. It was founded by Patriarch Cyril V of Constantinople in 1748. Today, this educational institution operates under St. Andrew's Skete. Each year the school accepts about 100 pupils, over 12 years old. Instruction at school is given in Greek. It is noteworthy that children during their studies are cut off from the outside world: they do not have the opportunity to communicate with their relatives. They are supervised by teachers who live on campus with pupils. Children daily attend divine services, read the lives of saints. Upon finishing Athoniada, its leavers can enter Greek higher theological schools without examinations.
