Helping the priest from Ugrinov is the best gift for my jubilee, – UOC Chancellor

On August 25, Metropolitan of Borispol and Brovary Anthony (Pakanich), Chancellor of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, permanent member of the Holy Synod of the UOC, rector of the KDAiS will celebrate his jubilee. About how exactly he is going to do it, Vladyka told the AiF correspondent.

"Nothing extraordinary is foreseen," said Metropolitan Anthony. “I hope that on this day the Lord will grant me, as always, to be surrounded by dear and near people to perform the Divine Liturgy. I pray to God that He give me an opportunity to thank Him by doing some kind of charity work for the benefits I have received. After all, there are a lot of people who need our attention, help, and support."

His Eminence Anthony emphasized that he considered one of the best gifts to be the sorting out of the situation around archpriest Rostislav Sapozhnik from Ugrinov village, Volyn region. Supporters of the Kyiv Patriarchate at first expelled him from the temple, and then through the court they made a decision to evict father Rostislav with his family from the house where they had lived for more than 15 years.

"He needs help now more than ever. If someone could support father Rostislav, I would consider this one of the most expensive and important gifts for my birthday," summed up the Metropolitan.
