Kiev politicians destroy the UOC, under the cover of faith, – expert
The expert commented on the initiative of the deputies of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine who suggested starting the meeting by reading the prayer "Our Father". According to Denisov, such an initiative illustrates only the duplicity of the current Ukrainian authority.
"It's not a secret for anyone that representatives of the political elite of Ukraine like to be photographed against the background of Orthodox churches, to demonstrate in public their commitment to church feasts and rituals.
And we understand that all these actions of the authorities are aimed at intimidating representatives of the church and lay people who go to UOC churches, and thus put under control the very organization of the church," the expert said.
Commenting on the purpose of this innovation, Denisov suggested that the initiative may be partly caused by the awareness of some Ukrainian leaders of the consequences of the grandiose catastrophe that occurred in the country through their fault.
"It seems that it gets unbearable already without this, too many nasty things have been done for the past few years. Perhaps, someone is having problems with their conscience, so such initiatives are coming up. However, the initiative is very strange considering who is now sitting at the Verkhovna Rada," notes the expert.
