More than 3,000 believers pray on Anna’s Hill (VIDEO)

On August 14, the patronal feast day of the Holy Martyrs of the Maccabees, the bishops of the UOC celebrated the Liturgy in the church of St. Anna’s Monastery located in the village of Vashkovtsy, Chernivtsi region. As a UOJ correspondent reports, the event gathered more than three thousand pilgrims.

That day, from 5 am, the pilgrims started climbing Anna’s Hill where the monastery is situated. Many people climbed on their knees. According to the legend, this helps restore peace in the family, in cases of infertility and many other ailments.

In the lower church of the Martyrs of the Maccabees of St. Anna’s Monastery, there is a miraculous icon of the Lord Almighty. Under the legend, it cures cancer, asthma and other diseases.
