UOC hierarch gives ark with relics of great saint to monastery in Transcarpathia
"On this day, I am passing a part of the relics of St. Nicholas of Myra to the monastery, where I grew spiritually, so that the saint would pray for this land and for all its God-loving people," said Metropolitan Anthony. "Today is the most important event in the history of the convent. The Primate of our Church led a service here. Today there are a lot of people who came to pray for Ukraine, we pray that the Lord will have mercy on us and give us peace so that we all will see the flourishing of our Motherland."
Metropolitan Anthony was born in the village of Chumalevo of the Tyachev district in Transcarpathia. As a child, together with his parents, he went to the Ascension Convent.
As reported by the UOJ, on August 25, Metropolitan Anthony of Borispol and Brovary celebrated his 50th anniversary.
