UAOC priest suspended from ministry because of land scandal in Kiev

The UAOC reacted to the scandal that arose in the media about illegal construction in the territory of the "Pochayna" park. There was an order of Primate Macarius of the UAOC published on the official website of the diocese, which says that the priest involved in the scandal is suspended from ministry.

"Metropolitan Makarius suspended Metr. prot. Andrei Khimiak from priestly duties until the complete resolution of the incident," said the official notification of the Patriarchate of the UAOC. "His Beatitude Metropolitan Macarius issued an order on the need to regularize all the documentation to the land, which turned out to be in the centre of the scandal disclosed by the "1 + 1" TV channel in the television program "TSN Week" of 03.09.2017."

In addition, an order was issued to refuse a land plot of 1.1 hectares because for the construction of the temple there is enough land with an area of 0.25-0.30 hectares.

Protopriest Andrei Khimiak was obliged to apologize to the public of Kiev and the UAOC faithful for the incident that occurred with his participation.
