Court orders police to investigate seizure of UOC church in vlg. Stary Gvozdets

The Kolomyia district court has recognized the right of the UOC community of the village of Stary Gvozdets. The faithful complained about the violation of their rights and inaction of the police, who did not want to investigate the seizure of a UOC church, reports Kurs.

At the trial, the head of the investigative department of the Kolomyia police explained the inaction by the absence of criminal offenses. The court considered that such an offense was the seizure of the UOC church and ordered to begin a criminal investigation.

On November 4, representatives of the Kyiv Patriarchate performed a divine service at the Holy Dormition Church in the village of Stary Gvozdets. Believers of the UOC were not allowed to enter the church.
