Deputy Head of the Department for External Church Relations of the UOC, Protopriest Nikolai Danilevich, was attacked by the people who called themselves "activists of the Maidan", and who tried to pour a red paint on him. According to the UOJ source, former priest of the UOC, Sergiy Dmitriev, who passed into to the schism, was noticed near the radicals. He smoked and communicated with those who later attacked Protopriest Nikolai Danilevich.

Five young men, who call themselves “Maidan activists”, tried to penetrate into the pess-conference of the UNIAN, dedicated to the results of the Bishops' Council of the Russian Orthodox Church. To prevent possible provocations, the press center did not let them in. The "activists" initially had cardboard cups, filled with a red color.

The "priest" of the Kyiv Patriarchate Sergiy Dmitriev, head of the Synodal Department of the UOC-KP on social service, constantly socialized with young people. According to the UOJ source, there were people in the police uniform next to the scene, however, when Protopriest Nikolai Danilevich was attacked, they did nothing, but only laughed.

Nevertheless, the attack was unsuccessful: most of the paint spilt at the feet of father Nikolai.
