Catholic Christmas to be celebrated first time on St. Sofia’s Square

On December 24 for the first time Kiev is going to hold festivities on the occasion of Catholic Christmas. The Holy evening was named “Ukraine and the world celebrate Christmas together”, writes ”Vesti”.

The event will be held on Sofia's Square, near the country's main Christmas tree.

According to Diana Popova, director of KMSA Culture Department, the celebration will begin at 15:00 with the family carol contest.

At 17:00 there will be a concert with the participation of singers Rulada, Oksana Kozun, groups "Quant", "Breath of Freedom", "ManSound" and other performers.

On the square they will establish a den with live animals.

In addition, as reported, prayers for Ukraine will be heard from the stage.

Earlier, the Verkhovna Rada made the Catholic Christmas on December 25 a nationwide holiday and a day off.
