Metropolitan Alexander (Drabinko) volunteers to be the "voice" of SLC
Metropolitan Alexander (Drabinko) of Pereyaslav-Khmelnitsky and Vishnevoye celebrating at Pentecost
He made a statement on his intention to speak publicly on behalf of his flock on the creation of the SLC on May 27, after serving at the Saviour's Transfiguration Cathedral of the capital on the Day of Pentecost, writes the site of the church.
In the context of the recent decision of the Synod of the UOC, "Metropolitan Alexander asked parishioners whether they authorized the bishop to be the voice of their flock and speak publicly on the unification and autocephaly of the Orthodox Church in Ukraine. The parishioners with one heart and lips supported their shepherd," said the statement of the church community.
On May 25, the Holy Synod of the UOC called on Metropolitan Alexander (Drabinko) of Pereyaslav-Khmelnitsky and Vishnevoye to refrain from statements enticing the hearts of believers.
Earlier, on April 23, on the air of the program "Svoboda Slova" ("Freedom of Speech") on ICTV, Metropolitan Alexander (Drabinko) of Pereyaslav-Khmelnitsky and Vishnevoye supported the idea of creating the SLC in Ukraine.
