Cross procession of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church: aerial shooting
Cross procession of the UOC in Kiev on July 27, 2018
More than 250 000 believers of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church took part in the Cross procession on the occasion of the 1030th anniversary of the Baptism of Rus by St. Prince Vladimir. After the moleben on the Vladimir Hill led by His Beatitude Metropolitan Onufry of Kiev and All Ukraine, the pilgrims walked to the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra.
The UOJ presents the aerial shooting of this procession.
On the eve of the Cross procession, authorities in many regions of Ukraine attempted to block the leaving of UOC parishioners for Kiev. However, according to the clergymen of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church, such opposition only rallied believers and resulted in the arrival of more cross participants than expected.
