Eustratiy Zoria calls on UOC hierarchs to show the end of Kremlin rule

Press-secretary of the UOC KP Eustratiy Zoria

Spokesman of the UOC KP Eustratiy Zoria wished the UOC hierarchs who are not indifferent to the destiny of the state to show “not in word, but in deed” that Moscow has lost power over Kiev during their meeting with President of Ukraine Petro Poroshenko.

“I wish the President wisdom and inspiration in his conversation. And those hierarchs in the MP who really support Ukraine and the unity of the Church, I want to voice it at the meeting and demonstrate that the Moscow rule over Kiev has really come to an end!” wrote Zoria on Facebook.

Zoria said that Poroshenko’s meeting with the episcopate of the UOC is very important for the future of the Church.

“A lot is important about it: where it will take place/will not take place, who will speak/not speak there, what will be said/not said at this meeting,” the spokesman of the UOC KP stressed.

The representative of the Kiev Patriarchate accused Moscow of trying, through the leadership of the Kiev Metropolitanate, to show from “inside and outside” that it controls and holds Ukrainian hierarchs in its hand.

On 13 November 2018, there will be held a meeting of the President with the Primate and hierarchs of the UOC in the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra.
