Poroshenko awards two hierarchs of UOC

President Petro Poroshenko awarded two bishops of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church on the occasion of the 27th anniversary of the confirmation by the All-Ukrainian referendum of the Declaration of Independence of Ukraine on December 1, 1991, reports the website of the Head of State.

The Presidential Decree No. 404/2018 states that the awards are given to persons who have made a significant personal contribution to the development of the state, the socio-economic, technological, cultural and educational development of Ukraine.

As the UOJ reported, President Poroshenko met with Metropolitan Sofrony of Cherkassy and Kanev during his working visit to the Cherkassy region.
