Deputies vote for the national celebration of Filaret’s anniversary
"Honorary acting spiritual mentor" of the OCU Filaret Denisenko
On December 18, 2018, 232 people's deputies of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine voted to include in the list of memorable dates in 2019 the 90th anniversary of the “honorary spiritual mentor” of the OCU Filaret Denisenko, reports the official web portal of the Ukrainian Parliament.
The 92 deputies who voted belong to the faction of the Petro Poroshenko Bloc party.
The Ukrainian people should celebrate the “special date” on January 23.
The “Metropolitan of Kiev” informed the Ukrainian public that “the Most Holy Patriarch” Filaret will now serve as the “honorary acting spiritual mentor” of the new church structure
