On Saturday, February 16, 2019, supporters of the new Ukrainian Church decided to seize the UOC church in the Volyn village of Peski, reports the press secretary of the Volyn eparchy, Protopriest Oleg Tochinsky on his Facebook page, calling the events "the ball of Satan".

“According to those present at the scene, most actively working is again the same commander of the local part of the Ministry of Emergency Situations Ivan Pashniuk, who cutting locks with a chainsaw in the church of Berestechko. The local UOC KP priest, Vladimir Kurchin, is also on the spot. Residents of the village report that the residents of neighbouring Berestechko, who seized the Holy Trinity Cathedral a week ago, are taking part in this bacchanalia,” the cleric’s statement says.

“Constantinople, look!” concluded the press secretary of the Volyn eparchy of the UOC.

As the UOJ reported, earlier Metropolitan Vladimir (Melnik) of Vladimir-Volynsky and Kovel and Bishop Nathanael (Krikota) of Volyn and Lutsk officially has addressed the head of the Volyn Regional State Administration Aleksandra Savchenko with a request to stop the violation of the rights and freedoms of believers of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church.
