Filaret’s "service" at St. Vladimir’s Cathedral attended by four "bishops"
Only four "bishops" of the new church arrived at St. Vladimir’s Cathedral
Today, on May 14, 2019, only four “bishops” came to the “divine service” which took place today at St. Vladimir’s Cathedral, where Filaret invited the “hierarchs” of the new church structure on the occasion of the memory of the Holy Martyr Macarius. This is reported by the BBC correspondent Vitaly Chervonenko on his Facebook page.
“Only four bishops arrived, even Michael is not present. No matter what was planned for today, this did not happen, the bishops of the OCU did not come to commemorate Macarius because of the threat of the ‘overthrow of Filaret’,” Chervonenko noted.
The edition “Glavcom” gave names of the participants of today's event at St. Vladimir’s Cathedral: these are three representatives of the “Ukrainian Church” from the eparchies located on the territory of the Russian Federation – “Bishop” Peter of Valuisk, “Metropolitan” Joasaph of Belgorod and “Metropolitan” Adrian Starina, as well as “Archbishop” Clement of Simferopol and Crimea.
We recall that earlier “Honorary Patriarch” Filaret had sent invitations to the “hierarchs” of the OCU for “solemn prayerful communion”, written on the forms of the Kiev Patriarchate. Though the head of the OCU Epiphany also got an invitation, he refused to participate in the event.
On May 8, “Bishop” Adrian Kulik of the OCU called “separatists” everyone who responded to Filaret’s invitation.
Later it became known that the students of the Theological Academy of the Centre of Political Rights had been forbidden to attend the “worship” of Filaret on May 14.
