On June 9, 2019, Archpriest Leonid Delikatny, on behalf of the UOC community of the Holy Archangel Michael, located in the village of Zaduvrovka of the Zastavna district, Chernovtsy region, addressed the President of Ukraine Vladimir Zelensky, as reported by the press service of the Chernovtsy-Bukovina Eparchy of the UOC.
In particular, addressing the President, Father Leonid asks, “Why has every Liturgy in our church been accompanied by fighting for more than 100 days?” The priest stresses that both his parishioners and he "voted for PEACE in Ukraine".
Also, the father asks the President to do his utmost so that “peace, calm and law will finally reign in our country so that the brother will reconcile with the brother, parents with children». Also, believers asked to protect their constitutional rights.
He recalled that "the religious community of the village of Zadubrovka has been protecting the Orthodox faith and its will to stay in the bosom of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church around the clock for almost 120 days".
At the end of his address, the rector of St. Michael’s Church said that all the believers want is to “quietly go to the church of God”, because now “almost every Liturgy has been accompanied by fighting for more than 120 days in a row. Vladimir, we voted for PEACE in Ukraine.”
The UOJ has previously reported that in Zadubrovka parents of classmates of one of the school leavers forbade the girl to come to the leaving party due to the fact that she is a member of the UOC.
