UOC invites believers to festivities in honor of Primate’s Patron Day

On June 24 and 25, 2019, His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry of Kiev and All Ukraine Onufry will lead services at the Holy Dormition Kiev-Pechersk Lavra. It is reported by the Information and Education Department of the UOC.

On June 25, the commemoration day of Venerable Onuphrius the Great, the Heavenly Patron of His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry of Kiev and All Ukraine, the Primate will perform Divine Liturgy on the square in front of the Assumption Cathedral of the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra (everyone will be able to congratulate him).

It will be possible to join the congratulations also on the eve of June 24, 2019, in the Assumption Cathedral (beginning at 16:45), where the Primate will serve festive vespers.

Traditionally, His Beatitude will be concelebrated by clergy from all over Ukraine.

Representatives of 11 Local Orthodox Churches are going to take part in the celebrations on the occasion of the Heavenly Patron's Day of the UOC Primate, the 5th anniversary of his Primatial Ministry and the 75th birthday anniversary of His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry.

All the faithful of the Ukrainian Orthodox Church are invited to join the celebrations and share communal prayer at the Kiev-Pechersk Lavra.

“We share the joy of this holiday with our Primate, His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry!” the clergy of the UOC calls upon everybody.

Recall, on June 25, at 7:45, before the beginning of the service, there will be a briefing for the media with the participation of the UOC Chancellor, Metropolitan Anthony of Borispol and Brovary, and representatives of the Local Orthodox Churches.

As the UOJ reported, first delegations of 11 Local Orthodox Churches are coming to Kiev to participate in the celebration of the Heavenly Patron's Day of His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry. On June 23, 2019, delegations from the Cypriote, Polish and American Churches arrived to attend the celebrations in honor of His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry of Kiev and All Ukraine.
