UOC-KP: OCU depends on Moscow through Phanar

The European dean’s office of the UOC-KP believes that the newly formed religious structure of the OCU through the Patriarchate of Constantinople depends on the Russian Orthodox Church. This is stated on the Facebook page of the dean’s office.

The message dedicated to the head of the OCU, Epiphany Dumenko, said that "the merits to the Church of any person should be real and personal."

“If someone has achieved results or victory in the sport through manipulation, then upon discovery follows a disqualification and loss of title,” the authors of the message write. However, they complain, “in sport or in high society, there are control mechanisms to achieve justice. Unfortunately, this is not the case in the Church.”

The UOC-KP is convinced that the OCU with the help of deception “was usurped by insidious people” who “mislead believers with fairy tales about their spiritual achievements, cheat them with the Tomos, and intimidate them with prohibitions if they do not obey". “They appoint their illegitimate children, relatives, godfathers, and so on ‘rectors, deans and bishops’.”

According to members of the UOC-KP, the fact of the concealment by Epiphany Dumenko of his blood relation with "bishop" of the UOC-KP Daniel Chokaliuk "is, unfortunately, an example of the head of the Church to be deplored. Even if the Tomos were real and the OCU were truly recognized and canonical, it wouldn’t matter because in this case everything is built on falsehood."

That is why, according to the dean’s office, representatives of the OCU deceived Filaret Denisenko and “deceived the whole Ukraine because they secured not an independent Church, but dependent on the Patriarchate of Constantinople and through it on the Moscow Patriarchate”.

At the same time, the UOC-KP emphasizes that the fact of the illegitimate birth of Dumenko from Chokaliuk is not a problem, and "neither the deceased nor the OCU primate can be condemned for this". The problem is allegedly that kinship with the "bishop" became for Epiphany "the main foundation for achieving such a high church office".

The UOC-KP believes that with the emergence of the OCU, the Kiev Patriarchate freed itself "from the problem of blasphemy and ridicule of the spiritual heritage of Ukraine".

Earlier, the UOJ wrote that due to the granting of the Tomos to the Ukrainian schismatics, the Holy Synod of the Russian Orthodox Church broke off the Eucharistic communion with the Church of Constantinople, while Patriarch Kirill said that Phanar had identified itself with dissenters.

In turn, the head of the UOC-KP Filaret Denisenko stated that Moscow acts through the "bishops" of the OCU. However, inside the OCU itself, it is believed that the Russian Orthodox Church is an enemy, whereas Phanar is a friend and a brother in Christ.
