On February 4, 2020, the “Holy Synod” of the OCU retroactively forbade the “patriarch” of the UOC-KP to perform “ordinations”, reports the official website of the newly created religious organization.

At the meeting of the “Synod”, it was decided that since June 24, 2019, the head of the UOC-KP Filaret Denisenko has been “a retired bishop of the OCU”.

In this regard, the "Synod" stated that Filaret Denisenko as “a retired bishop” is “canonically forbidden to perform any ordinations".

The decree of the “Synod” of the OCU also states that “the clergymen called by him (Filaret – Ed.) in a non-statutory manner are not bishops, and what is done for them and by them is all null.”

At the same time, it is emphasized that Denisenko “lost the canonical rights and obligations associated with the administration of the eparchy”, expelled from the “Holy Synod” but at the same time remains a part of the OCU “episcopate”.

As reported earlier, the head of the UOC-KP Filaret Denisenko “ordained” the ninth “bishop” for his religious structure.
