UOC monasteries to offer special prayers for getting rid of coronavirus

On March 16, 2020, the chairman of the UOC Synodal Commission for Monasteries, Metropolitan Pavel (Lebed) of Vyshgorod and Chornobyl, gave the hegumens and hegumenesses of the monasteries the blessing of the Primate of the UOC, Metropolitan Onuphry of Kyiv and All Ukraine, to make special prayers for getting rid of the coronavirus. The text of the document was published by "Monastary Vestnik (Bulletin) of Ukraine” on its Facebook page.

His Beatitude Metropolitan Onuphry blessed to add to the augmented litany special requests, and in addition to this to offer a prayer for combating the epidemic.

Three times a day, monasteries will ring bells. A special bell ringing will last 10 minutes each time.
