The occupying "authorities" of the Zaporizhzhia region say that some of the UOC priests are cooperating with the Security Service of Ukraine, the TASS reports.
“They are now trying to pursue the policy that is beneficial to the SBU. Fortunately, there are few of them. They are identified, they are given time to change their mind and refuse to cooperate with the SBU,” said Artem Sharlay, head of the “department for religious organizations of the socio-political communications and information policy unit of the military-civilian administration of the Zaporizhzhia region”.
He also said that the Russian Federation’s special services should pay increased attention to religious sects that had previously been active in the territory of the Zaporizhzhia region. “The activities of these organizations need to be studied in detail. This is the job of not only civil authorities, but also special departments,” Sharlay said.
Earlier, the UOJ wrote that the SBU saw a threat from the UOC.
